The Vladimir Spivakov
International Charity Foundation
The International Charity Foundation was founded by Vladimir Spivakov in May of 1994. The Foundation’s multi-faceted activities are dedicated to professional support of young talents in the sphere of the arts and the creation of favorable conditions for their creative growth.
Over the course of the twenty years of the Foundation’s work:
– approximately 10 thousand concerts were organized in the cities of Russia and abroad, including concerts with tbe participation of the Moscow Virtuosi State Chamber Orchestra and the National Philharmonic Orchestra of Russia under the direction of Vladimir Spivakov;
– 1100 artistic exhibitions were held; 16 catalogs of young artists’ works were published;
– 2500 people were awarded scholarships by the Foundation’s, over 1500 of whom are taking part in the Foundation’s programs, and 800 of whom are prize winners of international contests and festivals;
– more than 600 musical instruments have been donated;
– more than 20000 children received help;
– funds have been allocated for medical examination of 300 people and assistance has been rendered in the performance of 111 surgical operations.
Every year, the Foundation organizes master classes in Russia and abroad within the framework of the «Music Class» and «The Young To The Young» programs. Assistance is provided to the Russian Children’s Clinical Hospital and the Izmailovo Children’s Municipal Clinical Hospital, and over a number of years concerts were conducted at L. Roshal Research Institute for Emergency Child Surgery and L. Bokeria Clinic jointly with the «Nation’s League of Health» All-Russian Public Organization. V. Spivakov ICF’s Center for Children’s Social Adaptation and Rehabilitation has been successfully operating for many years.
The Volga Region Youth Symphony Orchestra was established with the participation of the CIS countries. The Foundation’s representative offices are working in many cities of Russia, in FSU and far-away foreign countries, including France, CIS and Baltic countries. V. Spivakov Foundation’s division is successfully operating since 1999 as an independent organization in Armenia, and the Foundation’s affiliates have also been established in Bashkortostan, Nizhny Novgorod, Tver and in Bulgaria.
The Foundation’s scholarship holders are permanent participants of the international festival in Colmar (France, Artistic Director – Vladimir Spivakov).
The Foundation’s largest and most significant project is the «Moscow Meets Friends» international festival, in which more than 20000 children have taken part since 2004. The young talents are given the opportunity to perform on the best concert stages of Moscow and the Moscow Region. Concerts by the Foundation’s young musicians are included in the subscription programs of many Russian regional philharmonics and other concert organizations. Foreign performances by these children are also taking place in the countries of the CIS, the Baltics, Europe, Asia, North and South America. Gographically, the Foundation’s activity spans 312 residential settlements of Russia.
For many years now, the Foundation has been implementing the socially important project «To Hear The Call Of The Future», which includes such programs as «Children to Children», «Children on the Roadside», «Children in Trouble», «The Ecology of the Soul», «In the Name of Life» and many others. Within the framework of the project, concerts and artistic exhibitions by the Foundation’s scholarship holders and program participants are held for children from boarding schools, orphans, disabled children and children from juvenile correctional institutions (the concerts have been given in 64 juvenile institutions). The Foundation is actively participating in the projects of the leading public and charity organizations: The Intergovernmental Foundation for Educational, Scientific and Cultural Cooperation, Vera Fund, Sistema Charity Foundation, Bela Fund, Artist, To Chernobyl Widows, the Foundation for Social and Cultural Initiatives, the Society for Support of Russian Children, the Foundation for Assistance to Cadet Corps, the Hennessey Social and Cultural Fund, etc.
From 2009 to 2011, the Foundation partnered with the Festival of Young Performers of Classical Music of the CIS and Baltic Countries «The Rising Stars in the Kremlin», under the patronage of S.V. Medvedeva.
In December 2010, Vladimir Spivakov was awarded the prize of the Russian Federation Government in the sphere of culture «for creation of the International Charity Foundation»; in June 2012 – the RF State Prize «for outstanding achievements in the sphere of humanitarian activities» (for the year 2011); the Moscow Prize in August 2013; and the International Prize «The Star Of Chernobyl» in October 2013.
